Kanchanaburi Wins Top Honors at 'Thai Food Good Health' Competition
Kanchanaburi’s 'Hong Kreung' restaurant has secured a 5-star award for its 'Kaeng Khae Pla Kang' dish at the Ministry of Public Health’s new culinary initiative.
On September 13, 2026, the Ministry of Public Health hosted the 'Thai Food Good Health' event at Suan Dusit University’s Suphan Buri campus. The initiative, led by Minister of Public Health Phatthana Phromphat, aims to elevate traditional Thai wisdom to international health standards. During the competition, the Kanchanaburi representative, 'Hong Kreung' (Sri Chaiya Pura), was awarded the 5-star winner title in the savory dish category for their 'Kaeng Khae Pla Kang' (jungle curry with river fish).
This event serves as a pilot project for Health Region 5, with the Ministry planning to expand the program nationwide. The ultimate goal is to establish a '77 Provinces, 770 Menus' system, creating a standardized framework for healthy Thai cuisine.
