104-Year-Old Resident of Trang Becomes Local Inspiration for Longevity

A 104-year-old woman in Trang province, Thailand, is gaining attention for her remarkable health, independence, and active lifestyle.

According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand on September 11, 2026, Mrs. Plaek Phonram, a 104-year-old resident of Nam Phut sub-district in Trang, has become a local symbol of vitality. Although her official identification card lists her age as 102 due to a delayed birth registration, family records confirm she was born in 1922.

Mrs. Plaek remains remarkably independent, performing daily tasks such as bathing, dressing, cleaning her home, and even gardening without the assistance of a cane. She is also noted for her ability to read and write fluently. With a large family spanning over 40 descendants, she attributes her longevity to a relaxed mindset and a diet that includes everything she enjoys.

For residents and visitors, Mrs. Plaek’s story offers a unique glimpse into the local culture of Trang, highlighting the importance of community and active aging in rural Thailand. While her story is a testament to healthy living, it remains a personal account of her lifestyle choices. There is no medical confirmation regarding the specific health factors contributing to her longevity, and her age remains based on family records rather than the official government registration document.
