Hong Kong Restaurant Under Investigation After Customer Finds Rodent in Meal

A viral video has sparked an official investigation into a restaurant located on Wah Sing Street in Hong Kong. According to a report by Khaosod Online, a customer purchased a meal set—consisting of beef satay noodles, ham omelet, and a drink—for approximately 200 baht. Upon returning home, the customer discovered a live newborn rodent coated in satay sauce within the food container.

The customer preserved the meal and filed a formal complaint with Hong Kong’s Food and Environmental Hygiene Department. Following an inspection, officials found unsatisfactory hygiene conditions at the establishment. Consequently, the restaurant operator is facing legal action under food business regulations and has been ordered to improve sanitation standards immediately. Authorities are currently reviewing the restaurant's food preparation, packaging, storage, and delivery processes.
