Vendors attribute the price hike to the rainy season, which has reduced the egg-laying productivity of hens. Additionally, size 4 eggs have been in short supply for approximately one month, and larger sizes like size 0 are becoming increasingly difficult to source. Shop owners, including those running local curry rice stalls, have noted the impact, with some adjusting their menus to reduce reliance on egg-based dishes.

Vendors anticipate that these market conditions may persist for approximately three months.
