According to a report by Prachachat Business, the Phon Yang Kham beef produced by the Phon Yang Kham Livestock Cooperative in Sakon Nakhon province has solidified its status as a premium culinary product. As a Geographical Indication (GI) certified item, this beef is currently being promoted to elevate menus in restaurants throughout Thailand.
Watcharee Pukhut, the Sakon Nakhon Provincial Cooperative official, noted that the cooperative’s efforts have successfully generated between 400 and 500 million baht in annual revenue. This growth highlights the increasing demand for high-quality, locally sourced beef within the Thai food industry.
For travellers and residents, this development is significant as it signals a wider availability of high-quality, locally produced beef in upscale dining establishments nationwide. It reflects a broader trend of promoting regional agricultural products to enhance the Thai culinary experience.
