Justice Ministry Investigates Alleged Foreign Real Estate Fronts in Eastern Thailand
The Thai Department of Special Investigation is probing claims that Israeli investors are using Thai nationals as proxies to control billion-baht real estate assets in Chonburi and the South.
According to a report by Thai Post, the Minister of Justice has directed the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) to accelerate an inquiry into allegations that Israeli investors are utilizing Thai citizens as nominees to acquire real estate. The investigation centers on properties valued at billions of baht located in Chonburi and southern provinces.
Authorities are preparing to issue summonses for witnesses, including business figures, to clarify the ownership structures of these assets. Additionally, the DSI has issued a third and final summons to MP Somchat regarding his asset holdings. Officials have warned that failure to comply with this latest summons could result in immediate criminal proceedings.
