Police Investigate Alleged Murder of Russian Siblings in Chonburi

According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand on July 31, 2026, police in Chonburi have launched a search operation in a forest area near Motorway 7, heading toward Rayong. This follows the arrest of two suspects, identified as 43-year-old Mr. Thana and 39-year-old Mr. Thongchai, in Sa Kaeo province.

The suspects reportedly confessed to killing two Russian siblings who had been reported missing since the early hours of July 26, 2026. The suspects allegedly stated that the motive was to steal the victims' motorcycle. They claimed to have shot the younger sibling and killed the older sister by striking her after the victims resisted. The suspects further alleged that they buried the bodies in the Chak Ngaew forest area in Huai Yai, Bang Lamung district, Chonburi.

Chonburi Provincial Police Commander, Police Major General Pongphan Wongmaneeset, is overseeing the investigation. Authorities, including forensic teams and rescue volunteers, are currently processing the site to locate the remains and gather evidence for forensic analysis.
