Thailand Eyes Real Estate Stimulus to Boost Second-Half Market
Industry experts suggest that easing LTV regulations and extending property transfer fee reductions could revitalize Thailand's real estate sector.
According to a report by Prachachat Business, CBRE Thailand has highlighted the potential impact of government measures on the property market for the second half of the year. The proposed strategy involves relaxing Loan-to-Value (LTV) regulations alongside the extension of reduced property transfer and mortgage registration fees.
Ms. Rungrat Veeraparkkaroon, Managing Director of CBRE Thailand, noted that these measures are intended to alleviate the financial burden on homebuyers and assist developers in clearing existing housing inventory. By lowering entry barriers, the government aims to stimulate purchasing power among those seeking homes for actual residence, thereby supporting a recovery in market demand.
For residents and potential investors, these developments may signal a more favorable environment for property acquisition in the coming months. If implemented, the reduction in transaction costs could lower the initial capital required for purchasing a home. However, it remains to be confirmed which specific measures the government will officially adopt and the exact duration of any fee extensions. Prospective buyers should monitor official government announcements to understand how these potential policy shifts might affect their specific financial planning or property search.
