Samui Elephant Home Caring & Education Center is an ethical elephant sanctuary and learning centre on Koh Samui, open for over seven years. It was created to promote sustainable wildlife, environment and local-community support, and it positions itself as a responsible alternative to elephant rides, with visitors invited to learn and to help.
Programmes include the half-day caring-for-elephants experience, a supplement feeding programme, the award-winning “Coconut Culture and Elephants” tour, school field trips and CSR programmes for companies. Visitors can also walk through the first elephant museum on Samui, an educational space on elephant biology, the differences between Asian and African elephants and conservation, followed by a jungle walk with the elephants.
