Phuket Thai Cooking Academy has been teaching Thai cooking in Kathu, Phuket, since 2015. Its signature class lets you design your own menu: you choose four authentic Thai dishes you actually want to learn, instead of following a fixed set, and cook them hands-on with Thai chefs in a half-day session of about three and a half hours.
Every class includes a visit to a local market to see and choose fresh ingredients, and free hotel pickup is offered from much of Phuket. Beginners and vegetarians are welcome, a longer four-hour masterclass with small groups is available, and private classes and team-building sessions can be arranged for groups.
The academy is at Soi Namtok Kathu in Kathu, Phuket. Classes fill up daily, so it is best to book ahead through the website, and guests receive the recipes to recreate the dishes at home.
