Freedom Boardsports (formerly Cobra Sports) is a surf, stand-up paddle and board-sports shop in Chalong, Phuket, in the watersports equipment business in Thailand since 1986. It supplies the Phuket community and the rest of Thailand with surfboards (shortboards, midlengths, funboards, longboards, grom boards and softboards), bodyboards, skimboards, SUP boards and paddles, foil and e-foil gear, windsurfing and rescue boards, plus fins, leashes, traction pads, wax, board bags, racks, surf wear, repair kits and sunblock. Used boards and clearance items are available, and the shop sells brands such as Firewire, JS, NSP, Haydenshapes, Sunova, Red Paddle Co, FCS and Futures.
If a model or size is not in stock, many boards can be ordered directly from the factory (JS, Firewire, NSP, Sharpeye, Sunova and others). Orders can be placed in store or online, and the shop ships anywhere in Thailand, usually within 24 hours of payment and in one to three days for delivery, including to your hotel; delivery in Phuket is free above THB 7,000. International shipping is available on request. Freedom is also a regional distributor of selected brands for Myanmar, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia and Vietnam.
The team describes itself as real surfers and paddlers with over 40 years of in-water experience. Freedom supplies the Phuket Lifeguard Club with rescue boards and equipment, sponsors local team riders and recommends local surf schools and board rental operators on its website.
