On August 5, 2026, Chaiwut Dechdecho, a list MP and deputy leader of the Democrat Party, submitted a formal request to the House Committee on Anti-Money Laundering and Narcotics. According to Thai Post, the petition calls for an investigation into an alleged illicit network accused of smuggling approximately 30 million liters of oil per month across the border into Myanmar.

Chaiwut presented the request to Dachai Ekpathapee, a representative from the Kla Tham Party and spokesperson for the committee.
