The 2026 mangosteen season in Southern Thailand has officially launched, with production expected to reach nearly 140,000 tons, a 75% increase from last year.
According to a report by Prachachat Business, the 2026 mangosteen harvest season in Southern Thailand is underway, characterized by a significant surge in production. Phuwadech Wuttiwongwat, Director of the 5th Agricultural Extension and Development Office, noted that the total yield is projected to hit 139,936 tons, representing a 75% increase compared to the previous year.
Despite the substantial rise in supply, market prices remain robust. Grade A mangosteens are currently trading between 40 and 50 baht per kilogram. The strong market demand is further evidenced by both small and large-scale traders actively securing advance contracts directly from orchards.
For residents and travelers, this season offers an excellent opportunity to enjoy high-quality, fresh mangosteen at local markets throughout the southern provinces.
