Songkhla Police Officer Suspended Following Allegations of Exploitation

According to a report by Khaosod Online, the Songkhla Provincial Police Commander has ordered the immediate suspension of a police sergeant following serious allegations of criminal misconduct. The officer, who worked in the investigative division, is accused of coercing over 20 victims into filming obscene content, which was subsequently sold in private online groups.

Evidence of these activities reportedly came to light after the officer was involved in a vehicle accident on May 31. An associate, identified as a former partner, claimed to have recovered a mobile phone from the scene containing numerous illicit videos, including footage involving a victim as young as four years old. The associate also alleged that the officer was in possession of various narcotics, which the officer claimed were seized evidence. The victims have since sought assistance from legal advocates to pursue the case.

For residents and travellers, this incident highlights a severe breach of public trust involving a law enforcement official. While the suspension is a significant administrative step, the investigation is ongoing. It remains to be confirmed how the officer obtained the alleged narcotics and the full extent of the distribution network for the illicit content.
