BLCP Power Joins Rayong Zero Food Waste 2026 Initiative
BLCP Power has partnered with local government and community groups in Rayong to promote a low-carbon society through innovative waste management.
According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, BLCP Power participated in the 'Rayong Zero Food Waste 2026' event, held as part of the Knowledge & Experience Expo. The initiative aims to transition Rayong into a low-carbon city by implementing circular economy practices.
During the event, BLCP Power showcased waste management innovations, including the use of Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae—often referred to as 'Maejo worms'—to process food waste, and techniques for converting fallen leaves into nutrient-rich soil. These methods are intended to reduce the volume of waste sent to municipal landfills.
The event was presided over by Kalchai Thepworachai, Deputy Governor of Rayong, and attended by various local administrative officials and community members. The discussions focused on the 'Rayong No Mixed Dumping' campaign, which seeks to turn waste into useful resources for a sustainable environment.
For residents and travelers, this initiative highlights Rayong’s ongoing efforts to improve environmental sustainability and waste reduction. While the event successfully demonstrated these technologies, the long-term impact on municipal waste reduction targets and the scalability of these specific composting methods across the province remain to be confirmed as the project progresses.
