Massive Search Operation Underway for Missing Elderly Woman in Rayong
Nearly 100 rescue workers are searching for an 84-year-old woman with Alzheimer's who has been missing near the Dok Krai Reservoir for 10 days.
According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand on August 5, 2026, a large-scale search operation is currently underway in the Pluak Daeng district of Rayong province. Nearly 100 rescue personnel, supported by local residents and family members, are scouring the area surrounding the Dok Krai Reservoir to locate 84-year-old Boonmee, who has been missing since July 26, 2026.
Boonmee, described as having a thin build and standing approximately 150 centimeters tall, suffers from Alzheimer's disease. Her family reported that she disappeared from her home in Phang Song, Moo 2, Mae Nam Khu sub-district, and has not been seen for 10 consecutive days. Despite continuous search efforts conducted by relatives both day and night, no trace of her has been found, and her current condition remains unknown.
For residents and travelers in the Rayong area, this incident highlights the importance of vigilance in rural and reservoir-adjacent zones, particularly regarding vulnerable individuals. While the search continues, the primary uncertainty remains the woman's whereabouts and her physical state after ten days in the field.
