Authorities Seize 12.6 Tons of Illegal Beef Tendons in Samut Sakhon

On August 4, 2026, the Phra Phirun Agricultural and Food Security Center (Phra Phirun Center), in collaboration with the Department of Livestock Development, conducted an operation in Samut Sakhon province that resulted in the seizure of 12.6 tons of frozen beef tendons. According to Khaosod Online, the operation targeted four suspicious trucks located in the Tha Sai sub-district of Mueang Samut Sakhon.

Authorities reported that the drivers were unable to provide the necessary documentation regarding the origin of the products or the required animal movement permits. Consequently, the goods were confiscated, and the individuals involved were taken into custody for legal proceedings. Sorawut Nueangjamnong, commander of the Phra Phirun Center, stated that the operation aligns with the directives of Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives Suriya Juangroongruangkit to combat the illegal importation of agricultural and livestock products.

For residents and travelers, this incident highlights ongoing efforts by Thai authorities to regulate food safety and protect the domestic agricultural market.
