Thai Ministry Warns of Fake 'Public Protection' Pages Targeting Scam Victims

The Thai Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (DES), through the Anti-Fake News Center, has issued an urgent warning regarding a circulating scam. According to Thai Post, fraudulent social media pages are posing as official channels for the Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO) and the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) under the name "Public Protection Organization" (องค์กรคุ้มครองประชาชน).

These fake pages claim to assist individuals who have previously fallen victim to online scams by inviting them to submit evidence and personal information. The Ministry warns that these platforms are designed to steal sensitive personal data and potentially cause further financial loss to victims who are already vulnerable. This initiative is part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to combat social and security threats under the direction of Minister Chaichanok Chidchob.
