Elderly Fruit Vendor Robbed at Gunpoint in Lat Phrao

According to a report by Khaosod Online, an elderly man who sells fruit from a pushcart was targeted by two individuals on a motorcycle on the night of August 1, 2026. The incident occurred at approximately 10:30 PM near the Lat Phrao-Wang Hin road, specifically near the curve by Wat Lat Phrao, an area described as dark and secluded.

The suspects reportedly brandished a firearm to intimidate the vendor before searching his cart and stealing approximately 6,000 baht, which represented the victim's savings. A local bakery owner, who frequently assists the vendor, accompanied the victim to file a police report on August 4. The bakery owner noted that the victim is a hardworking individual who relies on the pushcart for his livelihood.

For residents and travelers in the area, this incident highlights the risks associated with traveling through unlit or isolated sections of the Lat Phrao-Wang Hin district late at night. While the local community has expressed sympathy for the victim, the investigation is ongoing. Authorities have yet to identify or apprehend the two suspects involved in the robbery. It remains to be confirmed whether police have secured CCTV footage from the vicinity to assist in tracking the perpetrators.
