Police Hunt Accomplices Following Confessions of Multiple Murders in Chonburi

According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand on July 31, 2026, police are actively pursuing two remaining members of a criminal gang following the arrest of two suspects, identified as Pong and Thong. The suspects, who had been released from prison only two months prior, confessed to the murders of two Russian siblings whose bodies were discovered buried in the Sak Ngaew forest area of Huai Yai, Bang Lamung district, Chonburi.

During interrogation, the suspects further admitted to killing a family of three in June. These victims were also buried in the vicinity of the Russian siblings. Reports indicate that the gang allegedly posed as police officers to collect debts, leading to the abduction and subsequent murder of the family members. Police Lieutenant General Chatchai Surachetphong, Commissioner of the Provincial Police Region 2, is overseeing the investigation as authorities work to determine if the suspects are linked to any other unsolved cases in the region.

For residents and travelers in the Chonburi area, this case highlights a serious criminal investigation involving violent crime. While the primary suspects are in custody, the search for their accomplices remains ongoing. It is currently unconfirmed whether the gang is responsible for additional crimes beyond the five confirmed homicides, and the investigation is expanding to uncover further potential offenses.
