SAT Union Calls for Sports-Focused Leadership in Upcoming Governor Selection

Following the official closure of applications on July 29, 2026, the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) confirmed that 10 individuals have applied to succeed the outgoing Governor, Dr. Kongsak Yodmanee, whose term concludes on September 30, 2026.

According to Khaosod Online, the selection process will now proceed to a rigorous phase involving qualification checks, English proficiency testing, and interviews. The final list of candidates will be submitted to the SAT Board and subsequently to the Cabinet for official appointment.

In response to the ongoing process, the SAT State Enterprise Labor Union has publicly advocated for the selection of a leader who possesses both strong administrative capabilities and a profound understanding of the sports sector. The union emphasized that the Governor of the SAT is a highly influential position that shapes the trajectory of Thailand’s national sports development.
