Health Data Discrepancies Reported in Thailand’s 'Mor Prom' Application

According to a report by Khaosod Online, the Thai Ministry of Public Health and the National Health Security Office (NHSO) are currently investigating the 'Mor Prom' application and its official Line account. This follows numerous reports from users who discovered medical service histories in the system that do not match their actual experiences, raising significant concerns regarding data accuracy and personal information protection.

As of July 29, 2026, the Ministry of Public Health has received over 400 complaints regarding these discrepancies. A group of approximately 80 affected individuals is reportedly preparing to file a formal complaint with the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB). They intend to pursue legal action concerning potential violations of the Computer Crimes Act, the creation of false medical records, and data privacy breaches.

Pratuang Paodit, Assistant Secretary-General of the NHSO, stated that the agency is collaborating with the Ministry to verify the data, particularly regarding service claims and payments. The NHSO emphasizes that all reimbursement requests must undergo strict verification, including identity authentication via smart cards or electronic channels. For residents and long-term visitors, this situation highlights the importance of periodically reviewing personal health data stored in government systems. It remains to be confirmed whether these errors stem from technical glitches, administrative input errors, or fraudulent activity, and the full scope of the investigation is still ongoing.
