Pha Muang Task Force Intercepts Drug Traffickers in Northern Thailand

According to a report by Thai Post on July 29, 2026, the Pha Muang Task Force engaged in a confrontation that resulted in the deaths of three suspected drug traffickers. During the operation, authorities successfully seized nearly 400,000 methamphetamine pills.

Major General Sathit Wainon, Commander of the Pha Muang Task Force, provided an update on the unit's ongoing efforts to curb narcotics trafficking in the region. He stated that since the start of the 2026 fiscal year on October 1, 2025, the unit has conducted 446 successful drug interdiction operations. This figure represents an increase in activity compared to the same period in the previous fiscal year. Furthermore, the task force has apprehended 428 suspects involved in these illicit activities.
