Illegal Dumping of Sewage on New Udon Thani Road Sparks Investigation

According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, residents of Nong Na Kham sub-district in Udon Thani province discovered a large amount of sewage dumped on the newly paved Ban Don Phu–Garbage Dump road. The incident, which occurred in the early hours of July 29, 2026, has left the area with a pervasive, foul odor and raised alarms among locals regarding potential health risks, particularly if rainfall washes the waste into nearby residential areas.

Sornnarin Wong-anu, a member of the Udon Thani Provincial Administrative Organization, has filed a formal police report to track down the perpetrator. He noted that the dumping appeared to be a deliberate act rather than an accident, given the specific location and the nature of the waste disposal. While local officials have narrowed down the potential suspects based on the limited number of septic service providers operating in the region, there is currently insufficient evidence to identify the specific individual responsible.

For residents and visitors, this incident highlights a localized environmental and sanitation issue.
