Khaosod Online Thailand One source

Following a five-month seasonal closure, the Surin Islands National Park in Phang Nga has officially reopened to visitors as of October 15, 2026.

The Surin Islands National Park in Phang Nga province has officially reopened its doors to tourists as of October 15, 2026. The park had been closed for five months to allow for natural ecosystem recovery and to protect visitors from monsoon weather conditions. According to Khaosod Online Thailand, the park is now welcoming guests back to explore its five main islands, which are renowned for their white sandy beaches, clear waters, and vibrant coral reefs. The archipelago is particularly famous for its shallow-water coral systems, making it an ideal destination for snorkeling enthusiasts who do not require advanced diving skills. For more experienced divers, the nearby Richelieu Rock, located approximately 14 kilometers east of the islands, remains a world-class destination known for its rich marine biodiversity. Park Chief Athit Khayankit confirmed that staff and diving operation teams have completed preparations for the 2027 tourism season to ensure visitor readiness. While the park is now open, travelers are encouraged to check local weather updates before planning their trips, as conditions in the Andaman Sea can fluctuate. Further details regarding specific operational hours or potential capacity limits for the 2027 season are expected to be managed by park authorities as the season progresses.
