Former Employee Sought in Murder of Retired Thai National Beach Tennis Player

According to Khaosod Online, authorities are searching for a 29-year-old suspect, identified as Mr. Taet, in connection with the death of a 64-year-old retired Thai national beach tennis player. The victim was found deceased in their home in Nong Prue, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi, having suffered injuries consistent with strangulation and knife wounds to the arm.

Investigators determined that the incident likely occurred around 4:00 AM on July 26. Evidence indicates that 37,500 baht was transferred from the victim’s bank account via a mobile application at that time to an account held by the suspect. The suspect, a Myanmar national, had been employed by the victim for one month before being dismissed approximately one to two weeks prior to the incident. Following the discovery of the financial trail and other evidence, police obtained an arrest warrant. Reports suggest the suspect may have fled toward Mae Sot, a border district in Tak province.
