Investigation Underway After Alleged Assault by Nightclub Security in Nan

A 29-year-old man has reported being assaulted by security staff at a nightclub in Nan province, prompting a police investigation.

According to a report by Khaosod Online, a 29-year-old man named Mongkolchai filed a complaint with the Nan City Police Station on October 17, 2026, alleging he was attacked by security personnel at a local entertainment venue. The incident reportedly occurred around 2:00 a.m. in the Pha Sing sub-district of Nan province.

The victim stated that while exiting the establishment, he accidentally bumped into an unidentified man. Shortly thereafter, he claims that four to five security guards approached him and began physically assaulting him, resulting in injuries to his left temple and other parts of his body. The victim asserted that he had no prior conflict with anyone inside the venue.

Police officer Pol. Lt. Wattanaphon Bansra, who received the report, is currently handling the case. The incident has also raised questions regarding the venue's operating hours, as the report notes the establishment was operating at 3:00 a.m. when the complaint was processed.

For residents and travelers, this incident highlights the importance of exercising caution in nightlife environments. While the investigation is ongoing, it remains to be confirmed whether the venue will face regulatory action for operating beyond permitted hours or if the specific security staff involved will be identified and charged. Authorities have not yet released a statement regarding the status of the suspects.
