Authorities Rescue Three Women Held Captive in Chonburi Villa
Thai police and immigration officials rescued three Chinese women from a luxury villa in Bang Lamung after they were allegedly held captive and assaulted by a group of Chinese nationals.
On September 23, 2026, a joint task force led by Chonburi Immigration and Bang Lamung police conducted a raid on a luxury villa in the Bang Lamung district of Chonburi province. According to Khaosod Online, the operation was initiated after a relative of one of the victims received an urgent plea for help via a secret chat message, claiming the women were being held against their will.
Upon arrival, authorities surrounded the two-story property and apprehended one Chinese man found on the ground floor. Inside, officers discovered three Chinese women who had reportedly been lured under the guise of employment, only to be chained, held for ransom, and sexually assaulted. The rescue operation involved over 20 personnel, including tourist police and local investigators.
For residents and travelers, this incident highlights the risks associated with illicit employment schemes and criminal activity involving transnational groups. While the immediate threat to the victims has been neutralized, the investigation remains ongoing.
