Assault Incident Involving Teenagers in Phitsanulok Sparks Public Concern
A 16-year-old girl was assaulted by a group of older teenagers in Phitsanulok, with the attackers allegedly invoking a parent's police status to intimidate the victim.
According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, a violent incident occurred on the night of September 11, 2026, near the Nan River in Phitsanulok province. A video circulating online shows a group of older teenage girls repeatedly kicking and punching a 16-year-old victim, despite the victim attempting to plead for mercy. During the assault, one of the attackers reportedly challenged the victim to report the incident, claiming that her father is a police officer.
The victim’s mother, identified as a 37-year-old woman, stated that she only became aware of the incident after seeing the footage shared by her daughter’s friends on the night of September 16. Following this discovery, the mother accompanied her daughter to the Phitsanulok City Police Station to file a formal complaint.
For residents and visitors, this incident has sparked significant public debate regarding the conduct of youth and concerns over potential impunity if the attackers are indeed connected to law enforcement. While the video evidence has prompted a police report, it remains to be confirmed whether the attackers have any actual ties to the police force or if the claim was merely an intimidation tactic.
