Parents Seek Justice Seven Months After Fatal Accident Involving Chinese National
The parents of a 16-year-old boy are calling for progress in a seven-month-old investigation following a fatal collision in Chonburi.
According to a report by Khaosod Online, the parents of a 16-year-old Thai-Swedish boy, known as 'Tommy,' are seeking assistance to advance a legal case regarding his death. The incident occurred on February 21, 2026, at approximately 8:30 PM in Chonburi. Reports indicate that a Chinese national reversed a pickup truck across lanes to perform an illegal U-turn without signaling, leading to a collision with Tommy’s motorcycle.
Witnesses allege that the driver exited the vehicle but did not assist the injured teenager, who was suffering from seizures. The driver reportedly fled to a nearby residence before being picked up and leaving the area. Tommy was transported to a hospital 40 minutes later and spent six days in the ICU before passing away on February 27.
Chonburi police have confirmed that an arrest warrant has been issued for the suspect, who was not found at his residence. Authorities are currently working to coordinate the issuance of an Interpol Red Notice. For residents and travelers, this case highlights the importance of road safety and the potential complexities of legal proceedings involving foreign nationals in Thailand.
