Chinese Porsche Owner Uses Vehicle to Raise Awareness for Missing Children
A 27-year-old Chinese man has turned his Porsche 718 into a mobile billboard to help locate missing children, successfully reuniting one child with their family.
According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand published on September 17, 2026, a 27-year-old man named Du Lin from Kunming, Yunnan, has gained significant online attention for his unique approach to social advocacy. Du Lin covered his Porsche 718 with stickers featuring information and photographs of missing children, sourced from the 'Baby Come Home' charity website.
Du Lin stated that he chose this method because he believed traditional flyer distribution was too limited in reach. To ensure compliance with local regulations, he registered his vehicle with the police before displaying the information. While some critics have questioned his motives, suggesting he might be seeking attention, Du Lin maintains that his primary goal is to maximize the visibility of these cases. His efforts have already yielded results, with one of the 90 children featured on his car successfully returning home.
For residents and travelers in China, this story highlights an unconventional intersection of private property and public service. While the initiative has been praised for its impact, it remains to be seen how local authorities will continue to regulate such mobile displays. The effectiveness of this method in generating leads for the remaining 89 cases is still being monitored.
