Investigation Underway Following Infant Death in Chachoengsao
Authorities in Chachoengsao are investigating the death of a two-month-old infant who passed away five days after receiving a vaccination.
On September 15, 2026, police in the Chimphli sub-district of Chachoengsao province were notified of the death of a two-month-old infant. According to a report by Khaosod Online, the mother discovered her daughter unresponsive with mucus discharging from her nose. The mother stated that the infant had received a pertussis (whooping cough) vaccination five days prior to the incident and had reportedly suffered from a fever in the days following the immunization.
Local authorities, including medical personnel from Bang Nam Priao Hospital and rescue teams, arrived at the residence to conduct an initial investigation. The infant’s body was found wrapped in a towel at the family home.
For residents and visitors, this incident highlights a tragic domestic event currently under official review. It is important to note that the cause of death has not been officially determined by medical examiners, and the link between the recent vaccination and the infant's passing remains unconfirmed.
