Ministry of Natural Resources Delivers Sandalwood for Royal Funeral Preparations
The Thai Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has officially handed over sandalwood from Kui Buri National Park to the Ministry of Culture for the construction of the royal urn and casket.
On September 14, 2026, the Thai Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment officially transferred sandalwood harvested from Kui Buri National Park to the Ministry of Culture. According to Khaosod Online, the ceremony took place at the Fine Arts Department’s Office of Traditional Arts in Nakhon Pathom province.
Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Suchart Chomklin presided over the handover to Minister of Culture Sabida Thaiseth. This wood is designated for the construction of the royal urn (Phra Kos Chanthana) and the royal casket (Phra Heep Chanthana) to be used in the royal cremation ceremony for Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendira Debyavati Krom Luang Ratchasarinee Siripatchara Maha Watchara Ratchathida.
