Police in Songkhla have apprehended four Chinese nationals accused of defrauding a 66-year-old woman through a deceptive 'misfortune-clearing' ritual.
According to a report by Thai Post on September 10, 2026, authorities in Songkhla Province have arrested four Chinese nationals involved in a scam targeting a 66-year-old woman. The operation was led by Police Colonel Chansarawut Saengarun, Superintendent of Thung Lung Police Station in Hat Yai District, in coordination with local investigative units and the Songkhla Immigration Police.
The suspects allegedly approached the victim under the guise of performing a ritual to clear her of misfortune. Through this deception, they reportedly defrauded the woman of cash and gold valued at over 190,000 baht.
