On September 9, 2026, Khaosod Online reported that a 54-year-old car rental business owner in Songkhla province, identified as 'Ms. A,' has sought assistance due to persistent harassment from an unlicensed lender based in Hat Yai. According to the report, the victim began borrowing from the lender in February 2026, initially taking a 50,000 baht loan. Over the course of six months, she reportedly borrowed funds 28 times, eventually accumulating a total debt of 780,000 baht.
Ms. A claims she has already repaid 2.8 million baht, yet the lender continues to demand daily payments of 20,000 baht. The victim stated that the aggressive collection tactics have severely impacted her ability to operate her business and maintain her livelihood.
