Thai AirAsia Introduces New Perks for Senior Travelers
Thai AirAsia has launched a new service initiative for passengers aged 60 and older traveling on domestic routes within Thailand.
According to Khaosod Online Thailand, Thai AirAsia has introduced a suite of complimentary benefits for passengers aged 60 and older on all domestic flights. To access these perks, eligible travelers must present their national identification card at the check-in counter. The benefits extend to one accompanying person per senior passenger.
Key features of this initiative include access to a dedicated check-in lane, priority baggage handling upon arrival, and the provision of adjacent seating, subject to the availability of standard seats on the specific flight. At Don Mueang International Airport (DMK), the airline has designated a specific service point, 'Counter 10J' in Terminal 2, marked with signage for senior travelers.
Thansita Akrarittipirom, Commercial Director of Thai AirAsia, stated that the airline has conducted additional training for ground and cabin staff to better assist senior passengers. This move is intended to enhance the travel experience as the year-end peak tourism season approaches.
While these services are now active, travelers should note that the allocation of adjacent seating remains dependent on the availability of standard seats at the time of check-in. Passengers are encouraged to verify specific procedures at their departure airport, as the dedicated counter service is currently highlighted specifically for Don Mueang. Further details regarding potential expansions to other airports or specific booking requirements for the accompanying person should be confirmed directly with the airline.
