Hat Yai Tourism Rebounds Seven Months After Major Flooding

According to a report by Prachachat Business, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has announced a robust recovery for Hat Yai’s tourism industry seven months after the city experienced major flooding. Data for the first seven months of 2026 indicates that the sector generated 32 billion baht in revenue. Based on this performance, the TAT projects that total tourism revenue for the year will reach 55 billion baht.

To maintain this momentum, the TAT has scheduled a series of major events for the second half of the year. Looking ahead to 2027, the authority plans to leverage Hat Yai’s status as a UNESCO Creative City to attract over 8 million visitor arrivals, with an estimated economic impact of 55.9 billion baht.
