Factory Worker Drowns in Rayong Pond After Getting Tangled in Fishing Net

On August 28, 2026, local authorities in Rayong province responded to a report of a drowning incident in a pond located in the Tapong sub-district. According to Khaosod Online Thailand, police and rescue teams from the Sawang Phra Kuson Rayong Foundation recovered the body of a 49-year-old factory worker, identified as Mr. Jamlong, from the 10-meter-deep pond.

Initial medical examinations conducted at the scene revealed no signs of physical assault or external injuries. However, investigators noted that fishing nets were wrapped around both of the victim's ankles, which likely contributed to the drowning. It is estimated that the individual had been deceased for at least three hours prior to the discovery.

Colleagues reported that the victim had gone to the pond around 1:00 PM to catch fish for a meal. When he failed to return to his residence by the evening, a search was initiated, leading to the discovery of his body by local residents.
