Agri Plus Expo 2026 Highlights Thailand's Shift to High-Value Agriculture
The Department of Foreign Trade recently showcased Thailand's agricultural innovation at the Agri Plus Expo 2026, aiming to boost global competitiveness.
According to Khaosod Online, the Department of Foreign Trade (DFT) recently concluded the 'Agri Plus Expo 2026,' held from August 19–22 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. The event was organized in conjunction with Food & Hospitality Thailand (FHT) 2026 to promote the transition of Thai agricultural goods from basic commodities to high-value products.
DFT Director-General Arada Fuangtong stated that the initiative focuses on integrating technology and innovation to enhance product branding and trade capabilities. By connecting local innovative agricultural entrepreneurs with the HoReCa (Hotel, Restaurant, and Catering) sector, the government aims to meet rising international demand for sustainable food, health, and beauty products. This strategy is part of a broader policy to strengthen the grassroots economy and improve the global competitiveness of Thai exports.
For residents and travelers, this shift suggests a growing availability of premium, locally-sourced innovative products within Thailand’s hospitality and retail sectors. While the expo has concluded, the long-term impact on market prices and the specific range of new products reaching consumer shelves remains to be confirmed.
