Bangkok Authorities Investigate Irregularities in Pink Card Holder Housing
Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has identified 13 properties across nine districts where the number of non-Thai residents holding 'pink cards' exceeds established thresholds.
On August 21, 2026, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) announced the completion of a city-wide audit regarding non-Thai nationals holding 'pink cards' (specifically those with identification numbers starting with 7). Following a directive from Governor Chadchart Sittipunt, all 50 districts submitted their civil registration data to the BMA.
The audit revealed a total of 16,634 pink card holders residing across the city. Among these, officials identified 13 specific properties located within nine districts where the number of occupants exceeds the permitted regulatory thresholds. Pol. Gen. Adis Ngamjitsuksri, an advisor to the Governor, stated that special task forces have been deployed to conduct in-depth, case-by-case investigations into these irregularities.
