Bangkok Governor Confirms No Buyback Plan for Green Line Skytrain
Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt has clarified to a budget committee that the city has no intention of buying back the Green Line electric train system.
During a recent session with the budget committee, Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt addressed concerns raised by the People's Party regarding the future of the Green Line skytrain. The committee members cautioned the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) against any potential buyback of the rail system, expressing concerns that such a move could be perceived as favoring private interests.
In response, Governor Chadchart explicitly denied that the BMA has any plans to purchase the Green Line. He further addressed speculation regarding legal implications, asserting that even if a buyback were to occur, it would have no bearing on ongoing cases currently under review by the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC).
