Authorities Crack Down on Illegal Wood Processing Plants in Nakhon Ratchasima
Following public complaints regarding noise and dust pollution, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has raided eight wood processing facilities in Nakhon Ratchasima, resulting in multiple arrests and equipment seizures.
On August 13, 2026, Khaosod Online reported that the Thai Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment launched a coordinated operation against eight wood processing plants in the Non Sung district of Nakhon Ratchasima province. Minister Suchart Chomklin ordered the inspection after local residents filed complaints regarding persistent noise and fine dust pollution caused by the facilities' operations.
The operation, involving the Royal Forest Department and the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB), resulted in the seizure of 99 pieces of machinery and nearly 30 cubic meters of wood. Authorities confirmed that 22 individuals were apprehended during the raids. Minister Suchart emphasized that the ministry is committed to strict law enforcement to prevent illegal activities that harm national resources or disturb the public, stating that no influential figures will be exempt from these regulations.
