Police Seize Over 8 Million Baht in Illegal Imported Goods in Samut Prakan
Thai authorities raided a warehouse in Samut Prakan, confiscating over 83,000 items of unregistered cosmetics and supplements imported from Japan.
On August 13, 2026, the Consumer Protection Police Division (CPPD) conducted a raid on a warehouse located in Bang Phli District, Samut Prakan Province. According to Khaosod Online, officers seized 116 types of products, totaling 83,483 items, with an estimated value of over 8.3 million baht. The confiscated goods primarily consisted of cosmetics, dietary supplements, and health tonics imported from Japan without proper certification or Thai-language labeling.
The operation followed numerous consumer complaints regarding the sale of unregistered health and beauty products on various online platforms. Investigations revealed that the warehouse served as a hub for storing these illicit imports before they were packed and distributed to online retailers. Authorities noted that these products had bypassed mandatory safety inspections, posing potential health risks to consumers.
