Thailand Considers 'Thai Plus Phase 2' and Energy Transition Funding
Thai authorities are evaluating the potential for a second phase of the 'Thai Plus' stimulus program while outlining plans for a 200-billion-baht energy transition loan.
According to a report by Thai Post on August 8, 2026, Ekniti Nitithanprapas has detailed the allocation of a 200-billion-baht loan designated primarily for energy transition initiatives. These funds are intended to support the installation of solar panels and the conversion of public buses to electric vehicles (EVs).
Additionally, the report notes that 40 billion baht remains from an initial 200-billion-baht loan facility. This remaining balance is currently earmarked for the 'Thai Tiew Thai Plus' (Thai Travel Thai Plus) program. Regarding the potential launch of 'Thai Plus Phase 2,' officials stated that the government is currently assessing the feasibility and appropriateness of the initiative. The Prime Minister has indicated that the administration will evaluate the situation further before making a final decision.
