A 32-year-old woman from Osaka has been arrested in Tokyo for allegedly disrupting the business operations of publisher Shueisha through fraudulent bulk orders.
According to reports from Khaosod Online and Nippon TV News 24, a 32-year-old restaurant worker from Osaka was arrested by Tokyo police on charges of obstructing business operations. The suspect is accused of using multiple fake accounts to place and subsequently cancel nearly 2,000 orders for Naruto and One Piece merchandise from Shueisha’s online platform, Jump Characters Store.
The total value of the cancelled orders reached approximately 4.3 billion yen, or roughly 900 million Thai Baht. Authorities report that the woman admitted to the actions, citing personal stress as her primary motivation for the repeated fraudulent activity.
