Ministry of Natural Resources Supports Education in Chiang Mai

According to a report by Thai Post on August 8, 2026, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Suchart Chomklin has initiated an educational support project at Ban Kiew Lom School, located in the Bo Luang sub-district of Hod, Chiang Mai. The Minister tasked the Forest Industry Organization (FIO) with organizing a merit-making ceremony, known as a 'Thod Pha Pa Samakkhi,' to facilitate this donation.

The initiative resulted in the provision of 22 computers to the school. These devices are intended to support classroom instruction and help students develop essential information technology skills.

For residents and visitors in the Chiang Mai region, this event highlights ongoing efforts by government agencies to bridge the digital divide in remote mountainous areas. While the donation provides immediate technical resources for the students, it remains to be confirmed how the school will manage long-term maintenance and internet connectivity for these new devices. This project serves as an example of how state-run enterprises are increasingly involved in local community development and educational outreach in Northern Thailand.
