The incident began on the evening of August 7, 2026, when local officers from the Mueang Mukdahan Police Station responded to reports of a man acting erratically.
Upon arrival, officers attempted to apprehend the individual, identified as a man named Le. During the initial confrontation, the suspect retreated to the second floor of his home, where he remains barricaded. Authorities report that the individual is in possession of two firearms. A force of over 50 officers has been deployed to secure the perimeter and ensure public safety in the surrounding area. The standoff has reportedly lasted for nearly five hours.
