Record Drug Seizure in Sisaket Province
Authorities in Sisaket have confiscated over 2.6 million methamphetamine pills found in a field, marking the largest drug seizure in the province's history.
On August 7, 2026, officials in Sisaket Province announced the seizure of 2,646,000 methamphetamine pills, the largest quantity ever recovered in the province. According to Khaosod Online, the drugs were discovered in 16 fertilizer sacks loaded onto two carts hidden in a rice field in Non Khun District. The discovery followed a tip-off from a local resident.
Provincial Governor Anurat Thammaprajit and Police Major General Supachai Sakrinpanichakul led the press conference, emphasizing the need for public cooperation in combating drug trafficking. During the briefing, authorities also issued a warning regarding a substance known as "Happy Water," which is reportedly being disguised as collagen powder to target younger demographics.
For residents and travelers, this incident highlights ongoing efforts by Thai authorities to curb large-scale narcotics distribution. While the immediate threat in the Non Khun area is being addressed, the investigation into the criminal network—reportedly linked to a local cockfighting ring—is ongoing. Authorities have urged the public to report any suspicious activity related to drug production or distribution via the ONCB hotline at 1386. It remains to be confirmed whether the suspects involved in this specific shipment have been apprehended, as the investigation into the network continues.
