The warning, effective through August 8, 2026, highlights the risk of heavy to very heavy rainfall, particularly in the northern, northeastern, and eastern regions. This weather pattern is driven by a monsoon trough interacting with a low-pressure area in the Gulf of Tonkin, alongside a strong southwest monsoon.
Residents and travelers in these areas are advised to remain vigilant against potential flash floods and forest runoff, especially in low-lying areas and regions near mountain slopes. Additionally, the TMD reports that the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand are experiencing strong winds, with wave heights reaching 2 to 3 meters. In areas with thunderstorms, waves may exceed 3 meters.
