PTT Oil and Retail Business Reports Half-Year Revenue Growth

OR reports a 9.2% increase in revenue for the first half of 2026, driven by rising energy prices despite a decline in EBITDA.

According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, PTT Oil and Retail Business Public Company Limited (OR) announced its financial results for the first half of 2026. The company recorded revenue from sales and services totaling 381,793 million baht, representing a 9.2% increase—or 32,205 million baht—compared to the same period in the previous year.

CEO M.L. Peekthong Thongyai stated that the revenue growth was primarily attributed to higher average selling prices resulting from geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, even as overall sales volume experienced a decline. Conversely, the company’s EBITDA fell by 35.2% to 7,153 million baht, a downturn attributed to reduced gross profit margins within the Mobility and Global business segments due to energy market volatility.

For residents and travelers, this report highlights the ongoing sensitivity of Thailand’s fuel and retail sector to global energy market fluctuations. While the company continues to invest in EV infrastructure, digital services, and lifestyle businesses to ensure long-term growth, the immediate impact of global instability remains a factor in local pricing. It remains to be confirmed how these market conditions will influence future retail expansion plans and consumer pricing strategies throughout the remainder of the year.
